Premiere Shows Rs 1500 Per Ticket

The big movies are coming up. It is obvious that the elite people await an invitation from distributors for premiere shows. This ‘movie for free’ concept has been going gone from many years. It is also obvious that film journalists enjoy a great deal of it- watching any movie for free, when the producer in on promotion spree.

But now the practice is getting changed.

Why should a producer or distributor screen premieres only for free? They can do that for maintaining public relations and Press relations but not at the cost of pockets. Now, the distributors are sending their marketing guys to Corporate Companies to lure them saying about their movie and get a Corporate Booking @ premiere cost, say Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 per ticket. That cannot be at the count of tickets but will be a corporate booking. Yes, the expenditure burnt for free premieres can be covered here. But how many Corporate Companies are ready for this sort of looting is yet to be known.

As per the rules set, any movie can screen only four shows in theaters. But for the movies of bigger stars, rising to the demand, the shows are being screened in secrecy in many places say at 2 AM or 6 AM. The tickets will not be sold across the counter but will happen through a specified network. So, they are not paying entertainment taxes also for such shows.

The big wigs in filmdom have planned to get a hike for ticket prices from government but that ended futile. The reason is simple that the pockets of audiences will be looted and it becomes high time for small films to come to theatres rising to theater rents.

We have to see how many special paid premieres will be screened for the movies Robo, Brindavanam Khaleja and Rakta Charitra.
