Chiru attacks Jagan: What’s up?

In a surprising development, Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi launched an unprovoked attack on Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Sunday, lending credence to the speculations that the Jagan camp might split away from the Congress any time.

Chiranjeevi, who has been conducting road shows in Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts as part of Praja Chaitanya Yatra (mass-awareness tour), criticized Jagan for aspiring for the hot seat riding on the sympathy wave for his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He particularly targeted Jagan’s business empire through which the latter had allegedly amassed huge wealth through ill-gotten means.

“This boy has been trying to gain sympathy by taking out yatras in the name of his father and grab power. He must disclose how he had earned such a huge wealth within a few years. It is possible only for children of big leaders,” he said.

Chiranjeevi’s comments assume significance in the wake of reports that the Jagan camp is going all out against the Congress high command, forcing the latter to take a stern action against him. A couple of days go, the PRP president said his party MLA would extend support to the Rosaiah government if there was any crisis. It now appears that the political situation is set to take a dramatic turn in the next few days.
