TRS taking Vijayashanti revenge?

Weeks after TRS MP Vijayashanti accused the Congress of insulting her and arresting her in the middle of a road in Hyderabad, after an Election Commission notice, the TRS has now hit back with a tape of their own -- that shows the APCC President -- D Srinivas, asking for votes on the basis of his caste.

Armed with this new tape, the TRS has now asked the Election Commission to take similar action against the Congress as they had against the TRS.

He said, "Never in the history of Andhra Pradesh has a person from the backward community become a chief minister. If we are lucky and if Congress president Sonia Gandhi is going to think on these lines, then we could be proud of having the first cm from Nizamabad constituency and from our caste "Munnuru Kapu". I appeal to you to work for me and enable us to bag this honour."

The comment that has landed D Srinivas in trouble is a reference that he made to his caste, at a public meeting on June 29th in his constituency Nizamabad, long after the election code of conduct for the bye elections in 12 assembly constituencies in Telangana region, had come into place.

K Kavita Rao, TRS leader said, "We expect the election commission to act as an impartial body. If Vijayashanti has been pulled up, then why is D srinivas being spared. we will be representing our case to the EC today."
