Rosaiah takes it easy with Jagan’s tour

Chief Minister K Rosaiah is trying run down Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s proposed Odarpu Yatra from July 8, saying that he had no information about it so far.

“Jagan’s yatra issue has been seized of by the Congress high command. I read in newspapers that he and his family members met Madam Sonia Gandhi. I do not know what he had asked her and what she told him. If he goes ahead with the yatra, the government will provide all necessary security for him,” Rosaiah told the media, before leaving for New Delhi on Friday.

However, the chief minister made it clear that there was absolutely no connection between Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra and the monsoon session of the assembly. “Why should the assembly sessions be postponed for the sake of yatra? In what way are they related?” he asked. Rosaiah, who met Congress core committee members Pranab Mukherjee and Chidambaram in New Delhi, would have a meeting with Sonia in the evening and is expected to make all efforts to stall Jagan’s yatra.
