Odarpu Yatra is bogus

Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s Odarpu Yatra has virtually led to a slanging match between his supporters and detractors, dividing the state Congress into virtually two camps.

Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki described Odarpu Yatra as bogus and a farce. “The real motive of the tour has come out. Why should Jagan say that MPs and MLAs are prevented from joining his yatra, when he has said clearly that it is a personal yatra?” he asked. He said the Congress party had a solid vote bank and the workers would come in large numbers whoever tour their areas. “If Jagan is a true leader, he should come out of the party and prove himself without taking his father’s name," Madhu Yashki said.

Congress MLA P Shankar Rao said Jagan should follow the high command orders if he had to safeguard his political future. On the other hand, Parkal MLA Konda Surekha challenged the Congress MLAs and ministers to resign from their seats and contest again without taking the name of YSR. “They all owe their victory to YSR. Let the high command abolish the assembly and order mid-term elections. The people will decide between the Congress and YSR,” she said.
