KCR daughter opposes T-state promise

Telangana Jagriti president K Kavitha has taken strong exception to Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinvas’ statement that Telangana state would become a reality soon and that there would be separate elections to Andhra and Telangana states in 2014.

Kavitha, who is the daughter of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao, lodged a complaint with the Election Commission on Friday, stating that the PCC president was misleading the voters of Telangana stating that Congress president Sonia Gandhi ready to give Telangana state by 2014. “He has not given any reasoning for his statement. It amounts to cheating the people and luring the voters to garner votes for the ruling party,” she complained and demanded action against D Srinivas.

At the same time, Kavitha also appealed to EC to stop live telecast of the assembly proceedings, since the speeches made by the Congress and the TDP members in the House are likely to influence the voters in the by-elections.
