Jagan tour creates rift in the Congress party

The “Odarpu Yatra” of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the Congress high command’s serious reaction has sharply divided the Congress leaders in the state.

Some die-hard Jagan loyalists like Gurunath Reddy, Konda Surekha, P Srikanth Reddy and even minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose announced that they would go with him at any cost and make the yatra a success, others have found fault with Jagan for entering into collision course with the high command.

Senior leader K Kesava Rao said it was unfortunate that Jagan had written an open letter about his yatra and even mentioned Sonia’s opposition to the yatra in the letter. It definitely amounted to defying the high command, he said. Another senior leader Palwai Goverdhan Reddy said Jagan had a bright future and he should not spoil it by confronting the high command. “Jagan should decide whether he would be a hero in future or a zero by defying the high command,” he said.
