Big Fight Between Big Heroes Causing Sensation

Ever since megastar Chiranjeevi left the throne of Tollywood for a rather unfruitful politics, the tussle has been on the rise for the successor. After going through a bumpy ride, Nandamuri Balakrishna, bounced back to the big league with the bumper hit Simha which grossed over Rs 42 crores at the Box Office.

With this, he made his presence felt once again. With this, the race to the number one position has picked momentum and there are three contenders for this. The litmus test for them is going to be the months of August-September. We are talking about the three stars—Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and NTR Jr who are about to make their entry with their movies. The approximate cost of the three films is nearly Rs 100 crores.

Though Junior showed some promise earlier this year by drawing good openings for his movie Adurs, the film could not score big. However, he is a hot favorite for that place. “I don’t mind being No.1,” he announces and adds, “I don’t always think on those lines since acting is a passion.” Soon, junior will be arriving with ‘Brindavanam’ which is a mix of commercial elements and family values along with romance catering to a diverse section of audience. The other stars Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan are also returning after a long hiatus. Power star Pawan Kalyan’s last release Jalsa was a hit while Prince Mahesh’s Athidi turned out to be a dud. However, their fan following is still strong and ironically, the absence seems to have built excitement and expectations for their upcoming movies. “My film will release in August,” says Mahesh. Pawan and K-town director S J Suryah have joined hands for a cop flick Komaram Puli.

This is slated to be a big commercial entertainer with a thought- provoking theme. Most film viewers across the globe love to watch superstar flicks. Despite hiked ticket rates, crowds like to watch star-studded flicks since they have grandeur, pomp and visual treat. “Big stars assuring big openings and help generate money rotation,” says filmmaker K S Rama Rao. He has got biggies lined up with NTR jr and Ramcharan Tej.

On the other hand, producer Ravi Kishore says carefully, “No doubt hype around star films draw big openings, but only a good story can sustain it at the theaters,”. Now that the biggies are back, the excitement and expectations in the fans are high while the clash of the big stars looks imminent.
