Sacrifice for Congress Chiru

Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi has asked his party leaders and cadres to be prepared to make sacrifices for the Congress party in seat sharing or other issues during the forthcoming local body elections.

Stating that the PRP might enter into an alliance with the Congress in the ensuing local body polls, Chiranjeevi said both the parties would have to adopt a give and take approach while forging alliance. “If necessary, we have to make some sacrifices for the sake of alliance with  the Congress as part of coalition dharma,” he told the party cadres.

The PRP president told the media that the PRP support to the Congress would be in a phased manner. He said the party cadre was jubilant over the alliance proposal, which was an indication to the future political realignment.

He said the Leftists had no moral right to criticise the PRP on its alliance with the Congress, as they had dumped the Congress and joined hands with the Telugu Desam Party which was responsible for the death of left activists during the Basheer Bagh firing incident. He justified the proposed alliance with the Congress government stating that in order to protect the interests of the state and its people, it was indispensable to extend support to the Congress government.

Responding to a query on Congress was getting closer to Praja Rajyam only to keep check on Congress MP from Kadapa Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, the PR chief made it clear that both the issues were separate.
