Jagan helped NJR RS ticket

Believe it or not, it was because of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy that former chief minister N Janardhan Reddy could make it to the list of Rajya Sabha nominees of the Congress at the last minute.

According to sources in New Delhi, Janardhan Reddy was hell-bent on the RS seat though the high command assured him to make Governor. Though Sonia wanted to give the opportunity to former union minister Renuka Chowdary, she remembered that she had promised NJR last time that he would get a renomination, she could not take back her word.

At the same time, her advisors brought to her notice that if she denies RS ticket to NJR, it might create unrest among the Reddy community, which is already upset with the way the high command has been treating Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

The advisors apparently told Sonia that there is every possibility of Jagan camp making it an issue and campaign that after the death of YSR, she was ignoring the Reddy community which was the backbone of the party in the state and encouraging the Kamma community. “In a bid to please the Reddys, she had no other option but to renominate NJR,” sources said.
