Jagan on high spirits with TDP support

Congress MP from Kadapa Y S Jaganmohan Reddy must be on cloud nine for getting support from unexpected quarters in the Telugu Desam Party for his proposed “Odarpu Yatra” in Warangal district from May 28.

If it was TDP Rajya Sabha member Nandamuri Harikrishna who on Sunday indirectly extended support to Jagan’s yatra in Warangal, several other TDP leaders jumped into his favour on Monday. TDP official spokesperson and MLC Nannapaneni Rajakumari said there was nothing wrong in Jagan’s tour in Telangana aimed at consoling the families of post-YSR shock death and suicide victims. What is more, she even threw a challenge to Telangana TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao to stop Jagan’s yatra in Warangal, if he had guts.

Another TDP MLA from Anantapur Payyavula Kesav also supported Harikrishna, saying it was not proper for the Telanganites to give a call to the people to stop Jagan’s tour. “As an elected MP, he has every right to tour any part of the state,” he said.

One more TDP MLA from Rayalaseema P Linga Reddy also supported Jagan’s tour in Warangal. “By trying to stall the tour, the Telangana leaders are infringing on the democratic rights of an MP,” he said. Jagan is quite happy, as even the Congress MPs have not reacted so strongly to the Telangana leaders’ challenge. And if TDP is split over the issue, it will only benefit the Congress in the long run.
