Chiru to go on Delhi Yatra, too

Stage is set for Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi’s bus tour demanding both the Centre and state governments to expedite the execution of the multi-utility Indira Sagar Polavaram project.

The yatra will be kicked off at Antarvedi village in East Godavari on May 5 and will continue in several districts until its culmination at a public meeting at Polavaram village in West Godavari on May 19. As part of his tour, the PRP president will meet party leaders, supporters and farmers during the day and he will take part in bus yatra from 3.00 pm onwards until night every day.

A meeting is being planned to be organised at Badrachalam in order to get the feedback from the people from the project affected villages. The PR chief will visit East Godavari for five days in two phases and visit other districts to mobilise the support from the general public on the project.

According to PRP leader Jyothula Nehru, after the bus yatra, Chiranjeevi will go on a tour to New Delhi to bring pressure on the Centre on the project issue. He would meet all the top leaders including Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, AICC president Sonia Gandhi and union ministers to highlight the issue, Nehru said.
