The entry of Odarpu Yatra of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy into the Telangana region has once again stirred the Telangana sentiment, which has been subsided after the appointment of Srikrishna Committee.
No Telangana organisation or outfit or the political party announced that it would stall Jagan’s yatra and the intelligence sources hinted that there could be at the most a few protest rallies and slogan shouting during the tour. As expected, there were a few protest demonstrations against Jagan in Manuguru and Paloncha areas for his anti-Telangana stand.
However, what caused the heating up of the atmosphere was the house arrest of several Telangana JAC leaders in Warangal in anticipation of trouble during Jagan’s rally. The police took into custody more than 200 activists, following directions from Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy, a staunch loyalist of YSR family and indirect supporter of Jagan as the chief minister.
This has angered the Telangana activists very much and they are now planning to launch a big protest in Warangal, once Jagan enters the district. Watch out for some spicy news in the next couple of days.
