NIMS volte face on Satyam Raju health

It looks like the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences is playing a game with the CBI Special court on the health condition of B Ramalinga Raju, ex-chairman of Satyam Computers.

On Monday morning, the NIMS told the court that Raju was recovering from Hepatitis C and that he would be able to attend the trial in a couple of weeks. The court directed the NIMS hospital here to file a detailed report on the health status of Raju by April 16. The court asked NIMS to submit copies of daily case-sheet and medical examinations conducted on him for verification.

Raju has not been attending the court proceedings since September last year citing hea lth reasons. The NIMS informed the court that Raju may be medically fit to appear in the court in three to four weeks. However, in the evening, NIMS issued a bulletin stating that the health condition of Raju deteriorated and that his WBC count had come down from 8,000 to 1800 and that he was put under intensive medical care unit. So, which is correct? NIMS doctors’ report in the morning or evening?
