The objective for the existence of the film industry is to entertain the people and speaking about entertainment, the best way to do that is by adding beauty and glamour to it.

And who better than the beautiful heroines to give that extra spice and tender feelings to the viewers? However, the theory is that the career span of a heroine is quite short and her exit point is her marriage.

Some of the best beauties in the business such as Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor, Kajol etc in Bollywood along with our own beauties like Laya, Raasi, Simran, Gopika, Sridevi (daughter of Manjula) etc have called it quits or have taken up alternative careers. But with changing times and trends, the demands of the career and the urge to stay in the limelight are pushing the ladies back into business. Sometimes, the actresses are willing to break their relationships for the sake of career. On the brighter side, the husbands are getting more broadminded or sometimes compromising to encourage their acting spouses.

With the likes of Malaika Arora, Chitrangada Singh, Rituparna Sengupta still ruling the roost, the beauties down south have taken a safer option of getting into the booming small screen industry. So much so that even the yesteryears natural beauty Sumalatha is now gearing up to arrive with a talk show of her own.

But the fundamental principle still remains that once the heroine gets married, it is very hard for her to get back to the main league or shake her booty to grooving numbers. On the other hand, an unmarried hero pairing up with a married heroine is a rather odd combination that the audience may not want to see.

The permutations are many and with the film industry becoming more of a money making machine than a form of art, the heroines are doing whatever possible to face the lens irrespective of their marital status.
