CM Drops Plan to Buy Aircraft

Chief Minister K Rosaiah has dropped plans to buy a new aircraft for himself at the expense of the state government, thanks to the expose in the media.

An official in the CMO admitted that there was indeed a proposal in the past to purchase a new aircraft for the chief minister at a cost of Rs 150 crore. However, the Department of Infrastructure & Investment clarified that the government had dropped the proposal, considering the economics and operational aspects.

Following the media reports, senior officials of the department met the Chief Minister in this regard and apprised him of the above factual position. Rosaiah categorically told the officials not to entertain any such proposals.  “He felt that there is no necessity to spend such huge amounts and purchase a new aircraft,” the CMO official added.
