That seems to be the question which has sprung up ever since the wedding has taken place between Sania Mirza and the Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Mallik. Apparently, the issue of citizenship has risen and many are wondering whether Sania would be allowed to play tennis for India now.
While sources close to the Mirza family say that Sania would be playing for India only for obvious reasons, it is heard that Shoaib’s folks want her to come to Pakistan and represent their country. But if the couple decides to live in Dubai then another element of confusion arises about her nationality.
All this apart, there are many tennis followers who state the tennis story of Sania is going to end like Anna Kournikova. As it is, Sania has been going through a lot of injuries so she might just end up being a tennis celebrity than an actual player so this situation may not arise after all.
