Rosaiah hell bent on stalling Jagan tour

Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s proposed tour to different parts of the state to call on families of post-YSR shock death victims is causing jitters to Chief Minister K Rosaiah.

Rosaiah is playing his cards close to his chest and is making all efforts to prevent Jagan from taking out the tour, starting with West Godavari district. During his visit to New Delhi in the first week of April, Rosaiah would submit a report to party president Sonia Gandhi saying Jagan’s tour would cause a lot of embarrassment to his government, at a time when the political situation in the state was gradually returning to normal. “Naturally, Jagan expects the local MLAs to participate in the tour and make arrangements for him. Then, he would make statements saying the state government was not implementing the YSR schemes. It would create troubles for the government,” he is expected to tell Sonia.

Moreover, if Jagan enters Telangana, there would be further unrest in the region and it might even lead to law and order problems. “First of all, there is no point in calling on the families almost seven months after YSR’s death. Jagan is only trying to build up his own image. Let him concentrate on Kadapa,” Rosaiah camp says. Sources say he would request Sonia to convey a strong message to Jagan to drop his tour plans, so that peace would prevail at least for some time.
