Even as Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is contemplating his choice of male lead between the two to enact the eponymous role in 'Bhag Milkha Bhag,' centred around the life of the 'Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh, he's been handed a fresh request from the track and field legend.

Reportedly, after insisting that Akshay Kumar enact him onscreen ("Akshay is a 'Punjab da puttar' and can act too"), Singh opines that Vidya Balan ought to enact his spouse Nirmal in Mehra's bio pic.

Gushes Singh in a media chat, "My wife is a very strong woman and she's been instrumental in my success. I feel that only Vidya Balan can portray the character of my screen wife with dignity. I can only think of Vidya doing justice to the role."
