Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu is learnt to have asked the state government to step up security for him, in the wake of Saturday’s incident at Indira Park, where the TDP workers bashed up Telangana lawyers.
According to chief minister’s office sources, Naidu made an appeal to the home department for increasing the security at his residence at Jubilee Hills and party office at Banjara Hills, besides tightening his own personal security. “There is already a talk that the Telangana movement is infested with Maoists and in the garb of Telangana activists and lawyers, they might attack me and my party office. So, please tighten the security,” he reportedly asked the government.
Accordingly, the security at Naidu’s residence and also the NTR Trust Bhavan was stepped up on Sunday, following an intelligence input that the lawyers might come to the party office again.
