Mallya pays Rs 6 crore to Balaji for IPL win

Kingfisher Airlines Chairman Vijay Mallya has offered Rs 6 crore to Lord Venkateshwara of Tirumala to secure victory for the Bangalore Royal Challengers in the ongoing IPL-3 tournament.

Mallya on Thursday worshipped at the temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala and announced a donation of Rs 6 crores for the gold-plating of the celestial doors at the Bangaru Vakili (golden threshold) inside the temple. Speaking to reporters, he said that with the blessings of the Lord, the IPL-3 match could be won by the Bangalore Royal Challengers.

For Mallya, donating Rs 6 crore is just peanuts, compared to the windfall he would get if the Bangalore Royal Challengers win the IPL-3 cup. The profit would run into a few hundred crores and it would pave way for earning 10 times more than that. What a way to bribe the Lord?
