Life is always the greatest challenge because I'm constantly facing new situations.
What was most challenging for you as a child ?
I was shuttling between continents as a child because my father would get transferred. So, it was a challenge to fit into new schools at new locations.

I would like to call myself a player because being a stayer makes life monotonous.

What was the defining moment when you knew you were famous ?
Shortly after Brick Lane opened in 2007, I was in London.
And I was pleasantly surprised to see my face on posters on the sides of the double decker buses. People recognised me and it felt good to see such a reaction.

What is your idea of heaven ?
I have never thought of it but it should be a place where nature and human beings co- exist peacefully.

Would you call yourself an instinctive or a method actor ?
I will always be an instinctive actor because that's what I have been taught to be. I always feel that spontaneity is important for natural acting.
What are your guilty pleasures ?
There are too many of them but it's all a secret ( laughs ). I can talk of my guilty pleasures in food.

I love fatty foods, especially the Kashmiri dish Yakhin.
What movie comes to your mind when you think of your childhood ? Why ?
I recall enjoying The Sound Of Music as a child. In all these years I must have watched the film over 25 times but I still can't get over its music, dialogues and story. I can still watch the film a million times just for its music.
What turns you on in life ?
Bright, new and intelligent stuff turns me on.

There is a beauty in anonymity. The feeling of not having a burden is special. It makes you feel like a free bird.
What are the voices in your head telling you ?
My inner voices always tell me that I have a lot to achieve and see in life before I feel content.
Is there really a thing called screen chemistry ?
Chemistry comes alive when two actors are good friends in real life. The effect shows on the screen.
