Turn Indraneil bi-sexual

Indraneil Sengupta’s very excited.

He recently completed Rituparno Ghosh’s English and Bengali bilingual film Just Another Love Story (Aar Ekti Premer Golpo in Bengali), where he plays a bi-sexual opposite Rituparno Ghosh who plays the gay director.

About the role, he says, “It’s a different story with unconventional characters, yet it’s a regular love story with its share of emotional turmoils. The film is an attempt to change the perception people have about gays and bisexuals and also the way they are portrayed on screen, which is more of public ridicule. It was a difficult role especially to get into the thought process of a bisexual man and to understand him.” So are there any bold scenes? “Well, there’s no kissing bit, but yes there are some intimate scenes and trust me they are not in bad taste or over the top.

They are decent and very much in sync to the script.” And was there a conscious attempt to avoid lip locking? “You can say that. It wasn’t anything to do with what my wife (Barkha Bisht) would think, but it was more keeping public sensibilities in mind.”
 
But what did she really think about it? “She’s very supportive and knows about everything I do. And from day one her and my parents knew this script. The film has been made well and I was comfortable watching it with them. In fact Barkha started crying watching it, due to the emotional chords the movie touches upon.
