The stage is set for the tie up to take place between Praja Rajyam Party and Congress party for the upcoming GHMC elections. As expected, there has been a huge criticism and dismay expressed over this tie up and many are trying to figure out the cause for this. While many are opining that Congress can easily be successful without the help of PRP, the tie up concept has raised the eyebrows of many. While this is on the surface, a little dig has revealed a rather stunning truth and analysis.

Sources from the Congress camp now reveal that the idea of entertaining Chiranjeevi is to put an end to the growth of the political career of Y S Jagan. Apparently, there are those who are not too keen in the Congress to give the chair of the chief minister to Jagan after the death of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. So now, the way they are planning to put a check on this is by accommodating PRP. Well, the strategy is that they would form an official tie up with PRP for the GHMC elections and in due course, they would be merging the party into Congress. If need be, they are also looking at making Chiranjeevi as the chief minister after Rosiah and use his mass appeal as a shield till elections 2014 arrives.

The hopes were there on Jagan’s camp but the recent developments including the resignation of Konda Surekha has turned the tables and the senior members of the Congress have decided to slap the contention of Jagan. As it is, there are reports that many leaders in PRP are waiting to jump into congress and with the tie up, that will happen technically. On the other hand, there are a few strong supporters for Jagan and so, if they make a move and submit their resignations then the Congress government which barely managed to scrape through with minimum majority would be in trouble. But if the tie up happens then the 18 MLAs from the PRP will come to the rescue and they would not have much to worry.

There is also a strong buzz that a senior minister in the Congress cabinet who has set his eyes on the post of chief minister is said to be moving his cards briskly and he was also involved in encouraging the idea of having a tie up with the PRP. For now, the stars of Chiru seem to be brightening up slowly and steadily and for all that you know, he might be made the chief minister as well. On the other hand, Jagan seems to be going through a rough patch and many say that it was the immediate pressure applied from the Jagan camp barely hours after the death of YSR to make the young leader as the chief minister which is said to have pricked the Congress high command.

This is going to be a rather dramatic tale of politics and destiny will decide who will have the last laugh.
