Priyamani to star in the remake of ‘Ready’

National award winning actress Priyamani or the Bikini babe of Tollywood has signed her first Kannada film Raam, a remake of Telugu hit film Ready starring Ram and Genelia, directed by Sreenu Vytla.

She will be starring opposite Puneet Raj Kumar. Adithya Babu is producing the film while Madesh of ‘Gaja’ fame is directing it.

Priyamani, who won the National Award for her performance in Tamil film ‘Paruthiveeran’, and a resident of Bangalore has been offered Kannada films earlier, but she was not keeen.

Though Priyamani was born in Palakkad in Kerala, she grew up in Bangalore where she started her modeling career. Though she can speak Kannada fluently, she did not any opportunity to act any Kannada films so far it was. She was introduced with the film Kangalaal Kaithu Sey directed by Bharathi Raja. Currently, Priyamani is acting in acclaimed director Mani Ratnam's bilingual film ‘Ashokavanam’. Priyamani has just completed shooting for the Telugu film ‘Mithrudu’ opposite Balakrishna. She is also signed up for a film with Venkatesh is also on the track.
